A dappled silver mare entered the meadow, Arabian head held high. Her plume was held high, as well, and her bright sapphire orbs held a touch of nervousness. Would the right stag come? Perhaps offer a herd to join? The mare was fairly shy around other horses, and her stance was merely bravado. Inside, she was shaking like a leaf in a gale. One could only tell if they knew how to look at her... The right way: Firmly into the eyes. Yes, it was Elyria, the new Light. A Light in search of a calling.

Canyon Blues saw the mare, and he approched her slowly, for he detected a note of nervousness in her being. He held his head level with her's as he came, and he stopped a safe distance from her, but close enough for her to hear him as he spoke.
"Hello M'Lady. I am blessed Canyon Blues, but simply called Blue. May I know your blessing?"
His voice was gentle and kind, and he pricked his ears as he waited for her answer...if she would give one.

Elyria raised her head shyly, her slender pillars trembling. Her entrancing blue pools seemed to flinch, but the rest of her body merely shook. "I... I am Elyria," she murmured, one audit forth. "Erm... Hello, Blue." Why was this stallion here? Would he claim her, force claim her, frighten her, fight her? With her narrow knowledge of stags, any could be the answer. Her high-held, liquid silver plume fluttered around her hinds, and her matching tresses danced over her slim, curved neck. Her dappled grey pelt shivered, her nervous nature showing through. She lowered her head again, slightly, forelock hiding an eye.

Canyon Blue's smiled, wondering why she was so nervous? He wondered if there was something in her past affeting her, but she didn't share the common feeling of being terrified he found lived in most mares with bad pasts. Maybe her's was bad, just not as bad a he was used to with other mares. He snorted softly and shook his head.
"Do you have a home, Elyria?"
He asked gently, his voice kind.

Elyria's blue eyes shone nervously through her silver forelock, and her plume barely managed to whisk against her hinds. A tinkling laugh shook her voice. "I do not. Unless you count this boundless meadow?" Her head rose again, all sections of mane falling against her curved neck. He sounded kind enough... Was he offering a home, or just teasing her, tantalizing her with bits of paradise? THAT was the new question in the young nymph's mind. "Erm, do you?

Canyon Blues smiled gently, his eyes kind and gentle as he spoke.
"I do. I reside in Cresent Hollow. If you wish, I can take you there and you can stay...but only if you wish to."
Blue waited patiantly for her answer, his ears forward. His mane waved in a gentle breeze and the trees whispered an unknown song, and Blue flicked his ears to listen to both the wind and the fae.

A flush crept into Elyria's features, her blue eyes downcast. "...Okay. I will come." Dished head level with her silvery shoulders, she tentatively stepped beside the stag. Her knees trembled for a mere moment, but she suppressed it with a toss of the head. She held her head in this high position, and her plume rose slowly, but stayed in the spirited Arabian fashion. It wasn't often she did this, but she felt more confident than before. Perhaps enough to leave the pool of sadness she waded. Enough to be happy again, perhaps even enough to unleash her own bright light on the world. Perhaps enough to give a miracle, a foal... So many things depended on her happiness in her new home. Elyria's new home.

Blue nickered so softly that his nostrils only quivered; no sound escaped his muzzle. He smiled and flicked his ears, then lowered his head and rubbbed his cheek on his foreleg. After a few seconds he lifted his head and looked at Elyria. Blue smiled and shook his head, then set off, exited at the idea of finally having a mare in his terra. Elyria was his first.

Elyria followed him, dished head level with his shoulders. Her silvery pelt rippled with little-used muscles, and her long plume fluttered around her hinds. She had a home! Her three-beating was almost unheard, dainty hoofbeats kissing the earth. A happy whicker escaped her open maw, excitement obvious. Blue had gotten through to her, finally. She followed him happily, slender legs stepping high.
